As soon as I turned 15 I had a job working for the local lumber and hardware store.    I started working for $3.35/ hr and when I left in 1996, I had made it all the way to $7.25/hr.  The job taught me many valuable lessons and provided me with life long friendships.  To this day I look back and reflect on the people I worked with and smile!


Cancer Survivor

In 2014, a few months after the birth of my daughter, I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer.  After successful surgery, I am now almost 5 years clear of cancer.  The hardest part was wondering if I would get to see my little girl grow up.  If anyone is putting off a colonoscopy, give them my number.  I would be glad to speak with them and show them a photo that will explain why the procedure is so important (my wife & daughter).  Simply put it saved my life, it can save yours as well!

Directed all facets of procurement, marketing, sales and distribution functions for critical product lines on behalf of the fiber optic cable division. Continually researched emerging trends in consumer demands and relevant technologies. Evaluated newly available products to assess market appeal and profit potential; made recommendations regarding the addition, expansion or discontinuance of product lines. Identified and qualified vendor sources; negotiated competitive pricing agreements and purchased more than $30 million in product stock annually. Managed diversified inventories in excess of $1 million for regional distribution centers. Monitored inventory turn cycles and administered replenishment programs. Partnered with global sales force to assess product line performance in key domestic and international market segments. Engineered progressive product positioning, pricing and packaging strategies to drive sales growth. Guided sales team in developing tailored stocking and automatic replenishment programs for high-volume accounts. Collaborated with sales force and

Purchasing - September 1996 to December 1999

Held full responsibility for the procurement, warehousing and allocation of product inventories for broadband and head-end categories. Managed $1 million + inventories in five nationwide distribution centers. Coordinated stock rotations, adjustments and inter-company transfers. Cultivated strategic partnerships with vendors to secure competitive pricing agreements and optimal service levels. Evaluated vendor performance and resolved any quality issues through direct mediation. Implemented control measures and reporting systems to monitor inventory turn cycles and ensure the accuracy of inventory records. Worked closely with distribution management staff to investigate and resolve any "lost" inventory.

Selected Accomplishments

w Designed an inventory evaluation process to identify slow moving and dead inventory; upon its introduction this process transformed $75,000 in written off inventory into tax credit and cash revenue.

w Initiated and administered a demonstration equipment inventory program to track, refurbish, and replace and sell demonstration units. This program produced $50,000 in revenue during its first year of operation with minimal loss on the initial inventory investment.

w Played an instrumental role in the planning and execution of an inventory consolidation effort which eliminated the need for costly warehouse rental contracts. Prepared detailed cost analyses of all inventory warehousing systems which prompted this effort.

  • Place stock      replenishment orders (footwear) and expedite past due open purchase orders.
  • Orchestrated Close-out merchandise sale to      Discount Retailers (Filene’s Basement, Sierra Trading Post).
  • Work with Marketing Department to develop      promotional emails.

Key Accomplishment:

  • Oversaw the setup and      design of the warehouse operation including the transfer of 30,000 units      of product to new facility in Chambersburg PA.
